Sterling Medical is committed to ensuring that this site is accessible to people with disabilities, in line with WCAG 2.1 Level AA and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Our commitment

Sterling Medical Corporation is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability. We recognize the importance of meeting Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (29 U.S.C. §794d), as amended, and we work to align our public-facing website with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the standard incorporated by reference into Section 508.

Conformance status

We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA. As of the date above, we believe the site substantially conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, with known exceptions documented below.

Measures we take

  • Design with semantic HTML and ARIA where appropriate.
  • Maintain sufficient color contrast for body text and interactive elements.
  • Provide visible keyboard focus and full keyboard operability for navigation, links, and forms.
  • Provide programmatically associated labels for all form fields.
  • Provide meaningful alternative text for informative images, and mark decorative graphics as such (aria-hidden="true").
  • Respect the user's prefers-reduced-motion setting and reduce or remove non-essential motion accordingly.
  • Test with keyboard-only navigation and with screen readers (NVDA on Windows; VoiceOver on macOS / iOS).
  • Train design and engineering staff on inclusive-design principles.

Known limitations

The following items are known limitations that we are tracking to remediation:

  • The credentialing-engine animation on the home page and the outpatient-clinic build-out timeline on the services page are decorative and informational. Both pause when the user has set prefers-reduced-motion. The information conveyed by each animation is also presented in plain text on the same page.
  • Embedded third-party content (such as the recruiting-portal job board) inherits the accessibility characteristics of the third-party provider; we work with our vendors to track and improve their conformance.
  • PDF documents linked from the site (where present) may not all meet PDF/UA. We are remediating linked PDFs on a rolling basis; an accessible alternative can be provided on request.

Assessment approach

We assess accessibility through a combination of internal review and external testing:

  • Automated testing: tools such as axe DevTools, Lighthouse, and WAVE during development.
  • Manual testing: keyboard-only navigation, screen-reader testing, color-contrast verification, and zoom / reflow checks.

Standards we align to

  • WCAG 2.1 Level AA — w3.org/TR/WCAG21/
  • Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act — section508.gov
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III, in places-of-public-accommodation contexts.
